In the early 80s, the World Wrestling Federation had a show on the USA network called Tuesday Night Titans. It was patterend after late-night talk shows such as the Tonight Show, and featured wrestlers doing stupid shit.
Without further ado, I present to you the worst stand-up comedy act of all time. Mr. Fuji and “The Magnificent” Don Muraco:
Now, the further ado. Muraco and Fuji were told not to rehearse beforehand–in fact, they just went out on stage and read the entire thing off cue cards. It’s pretty obvious this is the first time they’re even seeing some of this material, as Muraco doesn’t even seem aware of where most of the jokes are going and he botches the delivery constantly. By the end, hosts “Mean” Gene Okerlund and Lord Alfred Hayes are nearly falling out of their seats laughing.
Highlights: Around the 2:40 mark somebody jabs a two-by-four at Fuji’s hat from behind the curtain. I guess they thought what was going on onstage wasn’t hilarious enough, they needed to add some slapstick. Watch for Mene Gene flipping off Muraco around the 2:50 mark.   The absolute best moment comes around the 3:00 mark when Fuji botches a line. He’s supposed to feed Muraco the line “How about some topical stuff?”  However, he misreads the card and says “tropical” instead, and Okerlund and Hayes double over with laughter.
However, the “recovery” from the botch is the best part.Â
Muraco: “Tropical? Topical!”
Fuji:Â “I don’t care.”
Trust me Fuji, neither did anybody else. Great stuff.
